Search Linking101

In a newsletter earlier this year, I mentioned SEOBook by Aaron Wall. I highly recommend his ebook and corresponding website, they are excellent.

In addition to this website, I also do web design work. One of my first articles on Linking101 was on designing a site for linking. The design and "search engine friendliness" of your website is the critical first step of any link building campaign.

Unfortunately you simply cannot just "build" a webpage or website and expect to get high traffic and make money. For those who are veterans of the Internet, you have heard this before but there are still so many who have not, so it needs to be repeated.

Aaron says in his ebook:

"I am fascinated by search engines. I can build a site about search engines only because I am extremely interested in them. Reflecting back upon my decisions I would probably be more successful today if I would have picked just a specific engine (most likely Google) or a specific type, and then expand from there. My general rule of thumb is to search for what you want to promote, using your favorite search engine. Click on the first listing. If it is not good enough then you should be there. If they know more than you, learn from them. If you devote yourself to becoming a guru on a topic that you already love there is no reason that you can't eventually be there. You are only limited by your own courage, creativity, and efforts."

Aaron is 100% correct and he knows what he is talking about because he has "been there and done that." His ebook and website are extremely well written and contain a wealth of information.

I have seen a ton of ebooks and website on SEO and design and I must say that SEOBook is one of only a few ebooks that I have found that really cover the subject of search engines and website design so thoroughly.

Currently it is going for $79 which is a very reasonable price for so much material. To secure your copy, you can click here.

In general, SEOBook is easy to read and follow. If you are a novice or have years of experience online, you will definitely get some from the book. It is a nut and bolts type book and it covers such topics as:

  • domain names (dashed vs no dash names), branding domain names
  • the basics of web hosting (shared vs dedicated)
  • website design
  • copywriting
  • ads on your website
  • provides tons of links to online resources -such as Linking101 :)
  • keywords on your website
  • link building- exchanging, buying, etc
  • PPC
  • directory listings
  • pagerank
  • and so much more...

Finally I really like and appreciate how Aaron put together his ebook. He is not trying to sell you anything; he is simply providing valuable information to help your website and online endeavors. If you need information on how to put together your website and give yourself a leg up on many sites out there, get this ebook or go to his website.

Thanks Aaron for a great resource.
